Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 August 2026
Afriludo is a Ludo game. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what it deliberately does not collect. It applies to the Afriludo mobile app and this website.
The short version: we do not ask for your name, your email, your age or your address. You do not create an account. What we keep is what is needed to put you in a game with other players.
What the app collects
- A random device identifier. The app generates a random value the first time you open it and stores it on your device. It identifies your installation so your games, stats and friends stay attached to you. It is not your device's hardware or advertising identifier, and it does not survive uninstalling the app.
- A display name. The app generates one for you. You can change it. It is visible to other players you play with.
- Approximate country. When you play online, our server sees your IP address, as any internet service does. We use it to work out roughly which country you are in, so we can offer games near you. We do not derive or store a precise location.
- Gameplay information. Match results, game settings and which room you are in, so games can be played, resumed after a disconnection, and scored.
What the app does not collect
- Your real name, email address or phone number.
- Your date of birth or age.
- Your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- Free-text messages. In-game chat is limited to a fixed set of preset phrases and emoji, so there is no message content to store.
- Anything for advertising. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software.
Playing offline
Afriludo can be played over your local Wi-Fi or a hotspot, with no internet. In that mode the devices talk to each other directly and nothing about the game reaches our servers.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers. Other players in your game see your display name and how you play. Our hosting provider necessarily processes the traffic that reaches our servers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Room and match state is short-lived and is discarded when a game ends. Where we keep longer-term records, such as your display name and your results, we keep them while your installation is active. Server logs containing IP addresses are kept only briefly for security and troubleshooting.
Children
Afriludo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because we do not ask for names, ages, contact details or free-text messages, the app is designed to work without personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Change your name. You can edit your display name in the app at any time.
- Delete everything. Uninstalling the app removes the device identifier, and a new one is generated if you reinstall. To have server-side records removed, contact us with your in-app name.
- Play offline. Local Wi-Fi games send us nothing.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
